This home in Van Nuys, CA had been mostly neglected for decades. Aside from almost no upgrades and the original wallpaper beginning to peel, there were layers of dirt that needed almost a week of cleaning before I could even begin priming I removed all the shutters, pulled off the wallpaper, patched peeling paint and cracks, degreased everything, removed unused heater vents and repaired holes, removed and replaced dated scalloped trim, and reconstructed areas of the kitchen cabinets. After weeks of prep, the whole house got a new bright color that I designed for this house. All the old doors and cabinetry went from grey to a bright white and the bathrooms got a little bit of color to tone down the pink tile. The client replaced old light fixtures and the hardwood floors underneath the carpets got refinished.
