This family wanted to freshen up their home and modernize it, just enough to get it ready for selling. All the wood ceilings got a white-wash to brighten them up without losing the natural feel of the wood grain. After many samples and conversations, we settled on this light, cool gray to keep things airy, while still contrasting the trim and not losing the architectural design in a wash of white. The kitchen had been oak cabinets, which felt like the late 80’s. They replaced the doors and drawer faces, and I refinished everything for a bright white modern look, with a darker gray to add contrast and mood. I also scraped off popcorn ceilings and totally gutted, replaced, and reinsulated one of the bedroom ceilings. Once they put this Westechester, CA house on the market, it didn’t take long to sell.
